As part of our managed cloud strategy we are seeking an experienced and accomplished AWS Specialist Solutions Architect to fill key a position within our specialist pre-sales team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced pre-sales or technical professional experienced in using the AWS platform. The AWS Specialist Solutions Architect is the front-line expert at working with Rackspace’s customers, sales teams, solutions engineers, and product development/management groups. The candidate that will fit best into a AWS Specialist Solutions Architect role will have extensive experience in design and development of business applications and Cloud specific solutions.
The AWS Specialist Solutions Architect is a front line roll that works directly with prospects and customers to understand their needs. The Solutions Architect translates the customer and prospect needs into a design that is the best performing and most cost efficient solution on the AWS platform.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Quickly learn new AWS offerings and help educate customers, internal sellers, and engineers on how the AWS offerings work.
Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of managed services on AWS and participate in architectural discussions to ensure that solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS technical and partner communities.
In collaboration with the sales and pre-sales teams, drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers
Act as a liaison between customers, sales, service engineering teams, and support.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a deep understanding of Cloud Computing – IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. Additionally, the right candidate will have the following skills:
Deep expertise in the AWS components and APIs.
Strong understanding of the AWS Cloud IaaS and PaaS services such as RDS, Redshift, EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, CodeDeploy, CFT, API Gateway and other AWS services.
Have knowledge and experieince in designing environments that adhere to the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
Working knowledge of Operating Systems (Windows and Linux).
Working knowledge of databases (SQL Server and MySQL) – design practices and use cases.
Good knowledge of networking fundamentals.
Good knowledge of application developments using Agile and DevOps concepts and practices.
Familiarity with programming and architectural frameworks.
One or some of these accreditations would be advantageous: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate, CCNA, Openstack, Google, Azure, MCSE, VCP, RHCSA, etc.
Can present concepts in authoritative and clear manner to customers through white boarding, presentations, and proposals.
Be fanatically attentive to customer needs and focus on ensuring the best customer outcome from a design and support perspective.
Tenacious problem solver, will own issues until full resolution.
Ability to create wow and impress customers with their technical acumen.
Effective with time management and expected deliverables.
Exceptional communication skills; both written and verbal with great attention to detail.
Negotiation and objection handling skills.
BUSINESS & COMMERCIAL EXPERIENCE :
You should have varying degrees of experience (subject to level) in some or all of the following areas:
5+ years’ experience in public cloud based infrastructure design.
3+ years’ experience in technical pre-sales.
Experience leading technical workshops exploring requirements and mapping solutions.
A high level of business awareness and commercial acumen.
Able to evangelize disruptive proposals when necessary.
